Wednesday Night Dinners

Every Wednesday night, St. John provides dinner to all that come.  Many people from around West Central come for a welcome hot meal each week.

Wellspring Dinners

St. John in cooperation with Wellspring serves a dinner to the children of West Central Fort Wayne.  After each meal the children enjoy various activities.

This year St. John is hosting the middle school of Smith Academy for Excellence.

Good Samaritan Fund

One of the basic building blocks of our congregation’s Ministry of Caring is the administration of the Good Samaritan Fund. In the word of God, the Good Samaritan was the one who picked up a beaten person along the side of the road and helped him to heal and become whole again.

St John Wednesday Breakfast Bible Study

Each Wednesday morning, men and woment are invited to meet in the Broadway House (the tan house on the east side of the St John’s parking lot) for fellowship and study.  The cereal breakfast starts at 6:45am, with the bible study and discussion from 7:00-7:45am.  This group also supports the Allen County Jail Ministry with their donations.

Noisy Offering

Another new opportunity to give to missions has been the beginning of the “Noisy Offering” in May, 2011. This is a second offering in our service where the money given goes directly to helping  others.

Men’s Service Projects

There are opportunities for special service projects during the year for men. These include helping home bound with simple house repair, outdoor projects for maintenance at the youth church camps, community painting projects.

St. John Academy

The St John Academy is ongoing classes for personal improvement, entertainment and life skills open to  the community and church members. Anyone can propose a class by submitting a request to sjluth@ Classes include financial planning, computer training, crafts, support groups and hobbies.
