Weather Update Jan 4, 2013 re: WORSHIP TOMORROW MORNING

FYI to all:

At this point, we will be holding both worship services tomorrow morning.  From all I’ve seen and heard, the accumulation by noon tomorrow will be relatively light (i.e., 1-3 inches), with things really picking up in the afternoon and evening.  (i.e., the kids sure will enjoy what will almost certainly be an extended Winter Break!).
At the same time, if any of you are concerned at all about making it safely to and from worship, please do NOT feel any pressure to make the trip.  We will make any adjustments needed.
The ONLY exception will be if our local Allen County Homeland Security issues a local travel WARNING barring any travel on the roads (except emergency vehicles).  Here is that exact wording:

  • The highest level of local travel advisory, means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. During a “warning” local travel advisory, individuals are directed to:
    • (A) refrain from all travel;
    • (B) comply with necessary emergency measures;
    • (C) cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans; and
    • (D) obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers.
The best description and web site I could find to watch this is here:
A detailed map of each county’s current status can be found at that site.

P.S.  – this is more current than what I mention on the church’s main voicemail, but the basic gist is the same:  stay home if you feel uncomfortable on the roads.  If you come, someone will be there to welcome you.
